The Story Behind Poppy & Thread

Hi, I’m Poppy!

I started Poppy & Thread in April 2025 with one goal: to make cute, colourful accessories that are just as practical as they are pretty. I’ve been sewing since I was little (with plenty of wonky stitches along the way), and I’ve always loved making things and coming up with new ideas.

Poppy & Thread is a one-woman business, so it’s just me behind the scenes. I design, sew, pack and post every order myself, as well as replying to your messages and making the regular post office trips.

I first started selling at local artisan markets, and they’re still one of my favourite parts of the business. I love meeting customers, talking about my products and seeing people choose something I’ve made by hand.

I definitely couldn’t do it all without the support of my family and friends. Whether it’s helping at markets, cheering me on or lending a hand when things get busy, they’ve been a huge part of my journey.
